Matters Arising
There was nothing contained within the minutes that required further discussion.
Treasurers Report
Councillor Cummings had submitted a report on the current financial situation prior to the meeting due to him being unable to attend in person.
The Current account stands at £5293.77. Cheques were issued to The Clerk and to Lives for the guardianship scheme. The Clerk will send this off. This leaves a balance of £4839.96.
It was noted that the last payment will soon be due for his work in the Church Yard. There needs to be a discussion with the Church Warden’s about the future of the Church Yard maintenance. The Clerk has a meeting with them soon and will report back with their views.
Correspondence
Pride in East Lindsey – Councillor Mossop explained about this scheme. There is an area along the canal that is used regularly by walkers and to walk the nursery children to school which is very muddy and would benefit from some chippings or stone. Councillor Stratford will contact Danny Wilson to see if this is something that could be done under the Pride in East Lindsey Scheme.
Other relevant business
Councillor Mossop reported that a fund has been set up to help with damage caused by storm Babbette. It was noted that the situation in Alvingham has been much improved thanks to the good work of Lindsey Marsh Drainage Board.
The River Lud outside Lock Farm appears to have been topped but not cleared. It is possible the syphon is blocked as a result and the feed to the Mill Pond may be compromised. It is unclear who is responsible for this. Councillor Hall suggested we contact the Environment agency in the first instance for advice on who needs to be contacted to have this cleared out.
The potholes along Highbridge Road outside Springside are getting worse and will be reported on Fix my street.
Date and Time of next meeting
Tuesday 9th January 2024 7.30pm at the Village Hall.
The Chairman thanked everyone for their attendance in particular Mrs Whalberg for taking the time to attend.
