Minutes of previous meeting
The minutes of the meeting held on 17th May 2022 were read and approved. They were proposed by Councillor Graves and Seconded by Councillor Wahlberg. Councillor Ashley then signed them as a true copy of the meeting.
Matters Arising
There were no matters arising from the minutes which required further discussion.
Treasurers Report
Councillor Cummings advised that the current balance of the current account is £4931.61. He is waiting to finalise the Jubilee expenses. There are no cheques to authorise at this time.
It was noted that the local branch of Barclays bank has now closed, and this has caused some inconvenience in paying in donations received in relation to the jubilee events. It is proposed that the account be moved to Lloyds bank who do have a branch in Louth. All councillors were in agreement with this proposal.
Accounts: -
Councillor Cummings circulated a summary of the years accounts which he went through and explained. These met with the approval of all councillors and were duly signed by the Chairman and Treasurer. Councillor Cummings will arrange for these to be submitted and displayed as required.
Correspondence
It was confirmed that the insurance premium has now been paid in full.
Further complaints of potholes along Highbridge Road have been received. These have been reported on Fix my Street and residents continue to be encouraged to report issues also. Councillor Hall confirmed that the more reports a particular stretch receives and noting if the pothole presents a danger of causing an accident the more likely it is to get prioritised.
The planning application received in relation to the land adjoining The Chestnuts was considered. Councillor Graves declared and interest in the land adjoining the site and did not participate in any discussion on the application. Following a discussion regarding the proposed changes it was agreed that the Parish Council did not have any specific issues with the application and would not raise any comments with ELDC.
There were no other items of correspondence that needed discussion.
Platinum Jubilee
The Jubilee Celebrations proved to be very successful with extremely positive feedback from the community. In view of the grant secured from ELDC towards the cost of the celebrations and the donations received during the event sufficient funds are left to proceed with the purchase of the memorial bench. It was agreed by all that we should order the recycled plastic bench in Brown with the inscription ‘ To Commemorate the Platinum Jubilee of HM Queen Elizabeth II 2022. Councillor Cummings will arrange for this to be ordered ASAP.
Other relevant business
We need to find someone who is able to undertake the grass cutting within the parish. This will need to be someone with their own equipment and public liability insurance. A notice will be put up / circulated on social medial asking for suitable candidates.
There is an issue with a fence which may have been moved onto the public highways land at North End. Councillor Hall will investigate further if we are able to send him a map of the area in question.
Date and Time of next meeting
Tuesday 6th September 2022 7pm at the Village Hall.
