Minutes of meeting held on 5th March The minutes from the previous meeting on 5th March 2024 were read and Councillor Stratford proposed they be approved and Councillor Ashley seconded this and signed them as a true copy.
Matters Arising The telephone box – we need to find someone to carry out refurbishment. The Clerk will put out a request on Facebook for recommendations for someone who can help with this.
Pylons – national grid have been asked to provide information on how many people responded to their consultation.
Treasurers Report Councillor Cummings confirmed that the precept had been received and the current balance in the account stands at £6312.26. Cheques were due to the Clerk and the insurance £178.56. Both of which were approved and signed.
Correspondence There was nothing of significance to note in the correspondence.
Any Other Business Potholes:- Councillor Hall reported that work is due to be carried out in the village imminently. Frustration was expressed that the Louth Road had been shut twice without prior notice to allow work to be carried out and the quality of the work had been of a very poor standard.
The Alvingham Cup:- Councillor Ashley has retrieved an old silver cup which it is believed has been in the village for a very long time. He would like to have the cup restored with a view to it being awarded to the best kept garden in the parish. All agreed that this would be a nice way to encourage pride in the appearance of the village. Councillor Ashley will make enquires as to the cost of restoration.
Next Meeting Tuesday 25th June 2024 7.30pm.
