Treasurers Report

The current bank balance is £4560.26. The rent for the Village Hall hire is due. We hold 6 meetings per year lasting 1 ½ hours, historically we have paid £120 per year which is more than the hourly rate. It was proposed by Councillor Shucksmith that we continue to pay £120 per year. All Councillors were in agreement.

Correspondence

Councillor Shucksmith has the speed sign in hand.

Nothing else requiring attention.

Any Other Business

The recent downpour of rain caused flooding on Highbridge Road on the corner in front of Kingshill again. Councillor Shucksmith noted that in general the flooding was significantly improved compared to previous years. Of greater concern is the suggestion that sewerage is bubbling up through the manhole on the verge outside Kingshill. Councillor Stratford reported a similar problem at the rear of Lingfield on Church Lane. Following discussion it was agreed The Clerk would write to Anglian Water and ask them to look into the problem.

Councillor Hall has been walking around the village and has noted the condition of Church Lane. He will push for the road to be repaired properly.

Councillor Cummings provided an update on the new heating system due to be installed in the Village Hall.

Councillor Shucksmith was thanked for sourcing and planting the Christmas Tree. Councillor Cummings asked the Parish Council to contribute to the cost next year.
