Community pulls together and smashes fundraising total for the new defibrillator.
As you may be aware, the village defibrillator was not fit for purpose, and urgently needed replacing. The parish council decided we could not wait to raise funds just in case it was needed, so we used reserve funds to buy and install it. The community has come together to raise and replace those funds magnificently. Ben Watson has raised £1090 in sponsorship with his 50 mile ( in pouring rain) bike ride, and what an amazing effort from this 15 year old boy. Team Shaw donated and raffled a lovely hamper and raised £251. Then out of the blue we were given an amazing private donation of £800 from someone who wishes to remain anonymous. So on behalf of Alvingham Parish Council we would like to thank Ben Watson, Team Shaw our annonymous donor and everyone who sponsored, bought raffle tickets, and stuffed money into Bens hand at the club on Friday night. Alvingham has always been a great community, always ready to pull together, and this just proves that community spirit is still alive and well in our wonderful village.
